SPECIAL MESSAGE
At the Daniel Kahikina Akaka Family Foundation, we are committed to serving local communities while recognizing our role in the global community. We prioritize education, invest in future generations, promote stewardship, and unite individuals around shared causes. Senator Daniel Akaka dedicated his life to these ideals.
Our mission is to advance these causes by providing educational and leadership opportunities, collaborating with organizations to extend our impact, and enabling like-minded individuals to engage. We strive to enhance the lives of our neighbors and strengthen our communities by understanding their needs and offering the necessary resources for their success.
Through our Aloha Books program, we have distributed over 250,000 books to children in Hawaii, New York, and five other countries. Our summer service camp educates students about meaningful work that benefits Hawaii's communities. The GO! READ program encourages volunteers of all ages to read to children each month, fostering a love for reading.
In summary, we aim to collaborate with others to help our communities thrive, create a brighter future for the next generations, and do so in the spirit of Senator Akaka, with Aloha.
