“The key word is Service.

What are you going to school for?

What are you going to do?”

— Senator Daniel K. Akaka, September 2017

What You Can Do

  • With our GO! READ project volunteers read to children in-person and/or remotely.

Reading to children helps improve their literacy skills but also fosters a love for reading from a young age. It enhances language development, boosts imagination, and strengthens the bond between adults and children.

By investing time in reading to children, we are investing in their future success.

    JOIN OUR TEAM

  • Volunteers help to process new books and prepare them for community distributions across the State of Hawaii, Western New York and Internationally.

This initiative embodies our commitment to promoting literacy and education among young learners, regardless of their geographical location.

By providing access to quality reading materials, we aim to inspire a love for reading and learning in children from diverse backgrounds.

  • The Speaker Series offers a platform for individuals from diverse backgrounds to impart their wisdom, expertise, and knowledge to our audience.

Through engaging talks and presentations, our speakers share valuable insights that inspire, educate, and empower listeners.

  • This is a FREE week long summer camp full of service activities. Participants immerse themselves in various hands-on experiences aimed at making a positive impact on their community, such as reading to kids visiting senior centers, planning service events, meeting guest speakers who talk about importance of service and so on.

Participants also develop essential skills such as leadership, communication and teamwork. By working together towards a common goal, participants forge strong relationships, gain a deeper understanding of community resources, and ultimately emerge as compassionate leaders dedicated to serving others.
