Windy Day

It was a windy and rainy day at Ewa Beach Elementary School in the 1960’s. Teachers were walking the parents and their children to the classrooms. There was rubbish flying all over the place and they noticed a man was picking up rubbish. One parent said, “Look at the custodian picking up rubbish. He is so good.” I said, “Oh no, that is not the custodian, that is our vice principal Mr. Akaka.” He’s always been such humble and kind man.
