Talk Story

I think the most of what I miss about working with Senator Akaka is his smile and kindness. I was lucky because everyday one of my duties was to sit in with the daily Hawaii visitors and hear him "talk story." He was always relaxed and enjoyed being with his people from home. Aunty Millie would also sit in and everyone enjoyed being with them in such an informal setting. They were always gracious and down to earth and being on The Hill with all the pressing legislation, they never rushed anyone. Everyone felt special.
